The 2011 Ford Super Duty line has all-new engines, a new transmission, new front styling and a slew of less-noticeable updates. The pickup version of the F-450 has been scaled closer to F-350 but maintains towing superiority, while the cab-and-chassis F-450 and F-550 serve the commercial market.
A new 385-hp 6.2-liter gasoline V8 is standard and similar to Ram’s 5.7 Hemi and GM’s 6-liter in output. The new 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V8 (390 horsepower and 735 lb-ft of torque) made Super Duty the first production pickup to surpass that 700 marker. Both engines come with a new six-speed automatic transmission.
While the snout is mildly curved and aerodynamics have improved, the Super Duty still mirrors a concrete block with in-your-face attitude and enough chrome to shave in front of it. There is nothing small about a Super Duty and even the shortest, plainest version represents three tons of mass.
For fleet and owner-operator buyers, Ford‘s Work Solutions system provides facilities for GPS linking, computer access to your office (with cell signal), 110-volt power in-cab, and RFID tags for your tools so you never leave any on the job site. Crew Chief allows a dispatcher real-time truck location, speed, and fuel economy, potentially useful for the Friday-night parent as well.
Towing owners will appreciate the optional under-box fifth-wheel hitch platform and updated integrated trailer brake controller. Side and curtain airbags are now offered.

To continue with the “Ford Tough” image doesn’t necessarily mean you have to hang back and let the sedans of the world have all the fun. You can fancy up your vehicle while still maintaining the dominant presence it is known for. To prove our point, CARiD.com offers more Ford F-550 Grills than any leading competitor. We go far and wide to get you the most diverse selection available so that when it’s time for you to find your Ford Grill, you have nothing but the best quality to choose from. It’s that simple! No one knows how important front-end style and protection is more than we do. We also know you require an EXACT OEM fitment to get the job done. Your Ford F-550 Grill is right here waiting for you to give it the home it deserves!

The 2012 Ford F-150 ranks 1 out of 9 Full Size Pickup Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis of 51 published reviews and test drives of the Ford F-150, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
For 2012, the Ford F-150 continues to be a comfortable and supremely capable full-size pickup truck that can be configured to fit almost any budget or use.

Ford F-150

Test drivers say that one of the 2012 Ford F-150’s greatest attributes is how much it can be customized. Among its 10 trim levels, four powertrains, three cab styles and three bed lengths, you can configure an F-150 for hardcore work, luxurious commuting, off-road adventuring and nearly anything in between. Reviewers say that even the most basic trim is easy to use and well laid-out, and that both V6 engines are economical yet decently capable.
However, the areas where the F-150 falls short are when it’s compared with its rivals. Test drivers say that competitors like the Ram 1500 have a smoother ride and an even more decadent top-of-the-line trim. The Chevrolet Avalanche has more car-like handling than the F-150 while retaining truck-like capabilities, and the GMC Sierra 1500 costs less.

There is probably no better accessory for a truck than a durable and aerodynamic tonneau cover. Not only it protects your cargo from rain, snow, and road dust, but also brings the style of the truck to a completely new level. Understanding how important quality is when it comes to the truck bed protection, we’ve gathered only the finest covers that are available on the market today. All of the accessories that we’ve handpicked for you, including hard and soft

Ford tonneau covers, folding, retractable, and roll-up covers, are manufactured from the stellar materials by the most reputable names in the industry. So don’t hold back and check 2 tonneau covers reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars to choose the cover that is perfect for your needs.

The 2011 Ford Super Duty ranks 1 out of 3 Heavy Duty Pickup Trucks. This ranking is based on our analysis of 21 published reviews and test drives of the Ford Super Duty, and our analysis of reliability and safety data.
The refreshed 2011 Ford Super Duty trucks are some of the most capable heavy duty trucks on the market. But if you don’t need over 12 tons of towing capacity, you may be better off choosing a full size or compact pickup truck instead.
The heavy duty pickup market is a stiffly competitive one, which is one reason why Ford refreshed the Super Duty for 2011. If you’re shopping for a heavy duty truck, you probably know that there are only four options: The (formerly Dodge) Ram Heavy Duty, the corporate twins Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD and the Ford Super Duty. The GM and Ram trucks were redesigned or heavily refreshed for 2011, and the race was on for Ford to reclaim the title of class leader. The automaker introduced a brand new gas V8 and a new Powerstroke turbocharged diesel engine that reclaimed the best-in-class title for towing and hauling capabilities. The rest of Ford’s efforts went into reducing noise, vibration and harshness from the engines, making what some reviewers say is the quietest set of engines in the class. “The engineers designed the engine layout to make it easier to manage noise and vibration, and the result of their work is an engine that is incredibly quiet; as has been the industry trend for the last couple of years, this is a modern diesel, one you can’t hear from a distance and doesn’t fill the cabin with noise,” writes Motor Trend.

CARiD.com has long been the source of valuable and stylish upgrades for all types of vehicles, and trucks have never been the exception.

As one of three brand new heavy duty (or Super Duty, in Ford speak) trucks for the latest model year, the F-350 is the middle child of the consumer-oriented Super Duty trucks, slotting between the F-250 and F-450 in terms of payload and hauling capacity. watch?v=2_-7yDQ2YMU
For the latest model year, the Ford dropped the underpowered 5.4-liter V8 from the Super Duty line, with the new base engine being a 6.2-liter SOHC gas engine.
This new standard engine brings 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque to the F-250 – an improvement of 85 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque. Engines will no longer be mated to a five-speed automatic, as that transmission has been replaced with a new six-speed SelectShift automatic.
Also gone for the latest truck is the short-lived 6.4-liter diesel engine, replaced with an all-new, in-house designed Scorpion 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel. This new range-topping engine produces 400 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of earth-moving torque – an improvement of 50 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque compared to the diesel engine it replaces.

Keeping your vehicle in top shape is always a priority. You can’t fall behind. Because if you do, one thing leads to another. And another. And getting out spills and stains inside your car or truck can be a time-consuming hassle. That’s why Ford Floor Mats are so critical. CARiD.com is here with the highest quality Ford Floor Mats you will find anywhere – guaranteed. That means premier names like WeatherTech®, Lloyd®, and Nifty® to see you through. Choose from All-Weather Ford Rubber Mats, Custom Embroidered Floor Mats, Heavyweight Mats, and more. You can go with straight-up hardcore protection or find that signature style your ride has been waiting for: it’s up to you. We’re just here to make sure you get what you’re looking for.
Ford Mats make it easier than ever to keep your interior clean and healthy. Mud, dirt, and snow can ruin the inside of your ride. Unfortunately, the factory mats are basically there just for show. They blend in enough to look useful, but in the end, they disappoint. Plus, they’re dull. Boring. And ultimately replaceable. We’ll get you on the right track with our line of Ford Mats that always answer the call. The latest styles and most innovative designs are here to deliver the custom look you love along with the protection you need. This is what it comes down to. Your Ford is important. Treat it that way!

What’s New for 2012.
The entire Ford Super Duty line was redesigned last year, so little is different for the 2012 F-250. Some models receive a 100-200-pound boost in towing capacity. (Note: Tow ratings on select F-350 and F-450 models were increased by up to 1,500 pounds.) Other notable upgrades or additions include gooseneck/fifth-wheel hitch availability for the 6.75-foot cargo box and new “AppLink” smartphone integration functionality for the Ford Sync system.
Introduction.
Even though the F-250 Super Duty was redesigned in 2011, relentless pressure from its Detroit rivals prompted Ford to improve the diesel’s torque and towing capacity, specifications that are critical to most heavy-duty pickup buyers. These upgrades reflect a highly competitive truck market. While brand loyalty drives the majority of pickup sales, the rivalry is so close that for picky cross-shopping buyers, the deciding factor comes down to the details — a purchasing criteria in which Ford may have a slight edge over its challengers.
In some respects, the 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty is more versatile and appealing than its bigger brothers, the F-350 and F-450. The towing and payload numbers are lower, of course, but the lighter F-250 is a little more nimble and might return better fuel economy. The lower price point gives customers more flexibility in accessorizing and personalizing their trucks with factory options or aftermarket equipment to suit their needs.
Ford’s integration of high-end electronic features is another top selling point for the Super Duty. Besides available navigation, HD radio, satellite radio, the Sync electronics interface and AppLink features, there’s the unique LCD productivity display on the instrument panel that provides vital fuel economy, towing and off-road-driving information.
Overall, the F-250 Super Duty represents a total package befitting a widely defined market and customer. The big-rig character is personified by the massive but well-proportioned styling that includes an imposing chrome grille and football-sized Blue Oval badge. The truck’s gentler side offers comfortable seating and interior amenities to soothe the soul on long trips. For the hard worker or commercial owner, there’s a long list of available packages, options and features that fit their needs and possibly enhance productivity.

A Ford Spoiler brings attention. Even if you don’t have the kind of ride that burns a circle around the racetrack, the right spoiler can elicit an exciting, if not aggressive look to the exterior attitude. That’s what interests most who go after this turbocharged look, and the demand is only growing. We’ve got the answer with the widest array of top-quality Ford Spoilers available for more models than anywhere else! All of the breakneck styles from Rear Spoilers and Custom Spoilers to straight-up Car Spoilers and everything in between. The high-yielding materials that won’t break down or wilt coming to you from the names in the business you can trust. This is where Ford drivers come to play. If you want to get in on the action for yourself then look no further…
At CARiD.com, we carefully select our inventory to provide you with the best. That’s why when it comes to your Ford Spoiler, we give you the options you need that make sense. Pick from an assortment of profile-changing pieces to find the match for your machine, and then witness the results! Custom-crafted Fiberglass or specially-molded Plastic is what gets it done – with elite workmanship to back it up. There’s nothing like setting your ride apart. When it’s your Ford that is the focus of the mission, CARiD.com is the place to get it done the right way!

Ford F-Series pickups were officially recognized as the “Hottest Truck” at the 2011 SEMA aftermarket trade show in Las Vegas, for the second year in a row.
The SEMA Award honors vehicles that specialty equipment manufacturers believe are the best platforms for accessorizing. It also recognizes the most popular vehicles that feature in displays during the weeklong show.
Before this year’s show opened, SEMA officials walked the floor and physically counted the number of trucks exhibited in booths. More Ford F-Series pickups were on display than any other truck.
Among the trucks that got special recognition at the show were the 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty by Superlift Suspensions, which teamed up with Matchbox to transform a Super Duty into the Matchbox Superlift Brush Truck.
Superlift stayed true to its off-road roots with a 10” lift system on 41” Interco IROK tires.
Shown in a PPG Vibrance “Oh, So Orange” basecoat with a contrasting satin-black powdercoated accent, the two-tone paint grabbed attention.
It was up to the job of fighting fires with code-three emergency lights and sirens, along with a firefighting utility bed and equipment. SEMA visitors were able to receive a miniature diecast version of the truck by visiting the Ford booth. By contrast, the 2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty called “Black Mamba” by Hulst Customs was down and dirty.
It was designed to show off luxury and style with Hulst Customs-designed hood and grille with stainless steel mesh insert. It also had Hulst side sills and lower front apron with Radiantz LED lighting.
Additionally, the truck featured suicide rear doors with Scissor Doors billet hinge kit. Planet Color custom black paint along with 3M Di-Noc stainless graphics appeared on the exterior. The interior was upholstered by Katzkin leather and Hulst Customs aluminum trim accents.

Ford’s Super Duty truck series includes several tiers of heavy-duty trucks, with the F-250 occupying the entry-level slot into the big truck segment for the Detroit-based automaker. The F-250 is designed to carry more cargo, give more room for passengers and tow more than the smaller F-150 variant, but of the Super Duty trucks, it still offers the best ride quality due to softer springs within the line.
For the latest model year, the Ford dropped the somewhat underpowered 5.4-liter V8 from the Super Duty line, with the new base engine being a 6.2-liter SOHC gas engine. This new standard engine brings 385 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque to the F-250 – an improvement of 85 horsepower and 40 lb-ft of torque. Also gone is the five-speed automatic, replaced with a new six-speed TorqShift automatic transmission. CARiD.com is considered to be a world leader when it comes to Ford Wood Grain because we showcase more choices in the highest level of quality than anywhere else. Period. We know the Ford roster up and down, and no one can match what we bring to the table.

According to The Detroit News, The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has closed its investigation into 2.7 million Ford pickups for fuel tank straps that may have rusted and failed. Affected models included 1997-2001 F-150, 1997 to 1999 F-250 and 2002 to 2003 Lincoln Blackwood trucks.
A total of 339 complaints were received from Ford and NHTSA, of which there have been nine confirmed cases of straps so deteriorated that the fuel tank completely dislodged and fell to the ground, with many more cases involving at least one failed strap. It seems that road salt and other chemicals used to melt snow and ice were blamed for the corrosion.
In response, Ford issued a recall that covered 1.1 million trucks that were operated in cold-weather states. That action was good enough for government work, says NHTSA, so the case has hereby been closed.

The first is a 6.2-liter gasoline-powered V8 that makes 385 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. If that’s not enough hauling power, any of the Super Duty trucks can be outfitted with a 6.7-liter turbocharged Power Stroke diesel. That engine makes 390 horsepower and 735 pound-feet of torque.
As a result of the power and the beefy chassis (which carry over from the 2008 redesign), the Super Duty gets the title of the most hauling capacity. The F-120, the smallest of the Super Dutys, can tow up to 14,000 pounds, which is a half ton more than comparable models from Dodge, Chevy and GMC. The mammoth Ford F-450 (which requires a commercial driver’s license in some states) can tow up to 24,400 pounds — three tons more than the largest Dodge Ram HD and 4,400 pounds more than the largest heavy duty trucks from GM. CARiD is home to a massive selection of Custom Wheels and Rims derived from the highest quality materials in the world coming at you from the very best names in the industry. All of our Ford custom wheels are crafted from the richest aluminum and steel alloys available. Sparkling chrome rims and classy custom wheels along with wheel and tire packages are available right here for most vehicles on the road. Choose from finishes such as chrome, black, brushed, and more to give your ride the image upgrade you’ve been looking for. For more info, contact us TOLL FREE at 1-800-505-3274.
All custom wheels and rims we offer are expertly designed and constructed specifically for your car, truck, or SUV. Regardless of material, all chrome rims are sized and shaped using the latest technology, guaranteeing complete OEM accuracy. The benefits to having custom wheels installed on your vehicle are noticeable right away. Not only do they present a sensational upgrade in appearance, but since they are lightweight and more durable, custom rims can deliver a smoother ride that is more enjoyable. Larger, stronger, shinier, and more expressive – the right wheels always make a huge difference.

Review: 2011 Ford F-250 Diesel. With Dodge decidedly losing the torque-war in the heavy duty pickup truck segment, it’s up to Ford and GM to battle out the pickup truck war of the decade. In this corner we have the 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel sporting the lightly retuned 6.7L turbo engine that is currently king of the pickup truck hill at 800ft-lbs. For 2011, Ford decided to drop the problematic 6.4L Navistar diesel engine in favor of an all-new, all-Ford 6.7L twin turbo V8 cranking out 400HP and an incredible 800lb-ft of torque. Connected to the ground via Ford’s 6R140 heavy-duty TorqShift six-speed automatic transmission, the amazing feat of engineering is not that the engine can make this much twist, but that the transmission can take it.

From the surface the F-250 strikes a very bold presence. This truck is seriously large. I parked next to two older Fords during a jaunt to Lowes and ye olde F-250 and F350 look like Tonka trucks in comparison. Matching the curb presence of the Superduty is the super-duper price tag. Starting at $28,020, our tester tipped the scales at $54,605. And diesel lovers will need to have especially deep pockets to see the King, depending on option packages the diesel is at least a $7,835 option. As Mel Brooks said: “it’s good to be the king.”

When you step inside the F-250, you realize that while Ford is spending big bucks improving the quality and feel of their passenger car interiors, relatively little is being spent on work vehicle interiors. Sure the interior of the F-250 looks butch, but for a vehicle that can easily cost more than any Lincoln it’s a pity that the F-250, even in decked-out King Ranch trim, still sports the same hard and nasty plastics on the inside as a Chrysler. That being said, there is a reality that a work truck needs to be capable of being ridden hard and put away wet, so perhaps an interior “Made Like Rubbermaid” finally does have a place. In all honest truth the Ford interior is just as good as the Dodge 2500, but somehow I expected more. King Ranch buyers beware; your edition doesn’t get any better dashboard components. While function over form may be good for most aspects of the interior, the steering wheel scores low marks with my personal scale. All the right functions are available on the steering wheel, but the controls surfaces are angled awkwardly making their use uncomfortable in the long term. In comparison, the GMC 2500HD has a very carlike interior, cheesy-fake-wood and all. While I appreciate the car-like styling, it both clashes with the work theme of a truck for me and yields no positive tactile feedback.

Whether for commercial or residential use, the F-250 is the answer for many every time. CARiD.com is the only place to trust when it comes to Ford F-250 Accessories and parts. And that isn’t a coincidence. We go out of our way to make sure that our inventory of Ford F-250 accessories and parts is full of nothing but the finest quality options for you to choose from. That means grilles, floor mats, bed rails, tonneau covers, dash kits, wheels, and more. We know important your truck is to you. It’s important to us too! Treat it right with Ford F-250 accessories that make a difference.
